Expleo are recruiting for a Systems Engineer to join our team, supporting our client, a major off-highway manufacturer based in Staffordshire.

The role will be responsible for delivering the design, development and deployment of new electrical & electronic systems.

Responsibilities will include:
Translate the 'voice of the customer' (internal and external) into a list of clear concise requirements and deliverables.

Selection of correct hardware/network platforms to deliver the technical solution, considering environmental and cost targets.

Creation of network architecture to satisfy delivery of the requirements.

Co-ordination of 3rd party support vendors with the creation of requirements and corresponding network architectures.

Ensuring robust and reliable ECU communication protocols are followed in line with industry best practice.

Be able to read electronic schematic diagrams and their electrical wiring diagram counterpart.

Ensure design for manufacture is considered, both relating to build of the programming and parameter configuration of selected solution.

Have a keen interest in monitoring the health and status of the system, via on board diagnostic protocols or over the air communications.

Prepare test plans to enable successful and robust software validation and verification.

Support of cause-and-effect analysis - risk assessments, FMEA, 8D, Ishikawa/fishbone.

Skills and Qualifications required:
Qualified to HND/Degree level in an electronic/software-based technology discipline or equivalent experience.

Knowledge of different CAN bus protocols.

Working knowledge of Software development techniques (V Model and functional safety.)
Knowledge / experience of hardware in the loop (HIL) testing - functional test, fault insertion testing.

Knowledge / experience of system integration testing at a vehicle level.

A good understanding of design verification processes.
