Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Hours: Weekdays Only, 7am-5pm or 6am-4pm (no weekends)

The Role:

We're looking for a skilled Forklift Engineer to join our busy workshop team, responsible for servicing, maintaining, and repairing forklifts and associated handling equipment to the highest standard. As a Forklift Engineer at Mainline, you'll carry out planned maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs both in the workshop and, where required, on customer sites. You'll play a key role in keeping our fleet safe, compliant, and ready for hire, directly supporting our reputation for reliability and quality. Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on forklifts and related handling equipment
  • Diagnose faults and carry out effective repairs to minimise downtime
  • Complete thorough safety inspections and ensure equipment meets compliance standards
  • Maintain accurate service and repair records
  • Carry out repairs on customer sites when required, representing the Mainline brand professionally
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures
  • Work collaboratively with the wider engineering and workshop team

What We're Looking For:

  • Recognised engineering qualification (Mechanical, Electrical, or similar) desirable
  • Experience servicing and repairing forklifts or similar plant/handling equipment desirable
  • Full UK driving licence preferred
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Positive, can-do attitude to problem solving
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • The ability to prioritise tasks in an ever-changing demanding hire environment and work well under pressure
