Are you an experienced supplier, contract and procurement professional with strong commercial awareness, excellent stakeholder skills and the ability to drive performance, compliance and continuous improvement? This is a great opportunity to play a key role in managing supplier relationships across a Surveying & Minor Works function, using your procurement experience to support compliant, cost-effective and high-quality services that make a real difference to residents.
Your duties as the Supplier Relationship Manager include:
- Supplier and Contract Management: Manage supplier relationships, contract delivery, mobilisation, performance reviews and ongoing governance across the Surveying & Minor Works portfolio.
- Procurement Compliance: Ensure supplier activity, contract management and governance processes comply with procurement legislation, the Procurement Act and internal policies.
- Performance and Service Improvement: Monitor KPIs, SLAs and supplier performance data to identify risks, resolve issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Commercial Oversight: Monitor contract spend, support forecasting, validate invoices and variations, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with internal teams, Procurement, Legal, Finance, suppliers, contractors and senior stakeholders to support effective contract delivery.
- Compliance and Audit Support: Maintain accurate documentation, governance logs and audit-ready evidence, supporting operational, financial, health and safety and procurement reviews.
- Social Value and Risk Management: Track social value commitments, promote responsible procurement and manage supplier, procurement and delivery risks.
- Team Leadership: Line manage Supplier Relationship Coordinators, supporting effective performance, organisation and delivery.
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
- Essential procurement experience, with a strong understanding of compliant procurement processes, supplier governance and contract management.
- Strong experience in supplier relationship management, contract management and supplier performance monitoring.
- Experience within social housing or a similar regulated environment.
- Knowledge of procurement legislation, regulatory requirements and the Procurement Act.
- Strong commercial awareness, including budgets, purchase orders, invoices, variations and financial oversight.
- Confident using KPIs, SLAs, reporting data and contract terms to challenge performance and support improvement.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to maintain accurate records, trackers, governance logs and audit-ready evidence.
- Ability to identify risk, manage escalations and work effectively with internal teams, suppliers, contractors, auditors and senior stakeholders.
- Educated to GCSE level or equivalent in Maths and English.
