OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE ROLE: Accomplishes department objectives by supervising staff; organising and monitoring work process on a day to day basis of their specific area.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Ensuring the completion of any tasks that are assigned to the team by the department Manager.
  • Ensuring team members complete the tasks that have been assigned to them.
  • Monitoring time that work is issued and completed.
  • Monitoring and planning of resources to ensure that they are appropriate to the workload.
  • Ensuring that all team members complete timesheets in an accurate and timely fashion.
  • Monitoring the attendance, quality and timekeeping of all team members, and address accordingly.
  • Approving and managing staff holidays to minimise the disruption to the team.
  • Delegating tasks to team members and ensuring that all work produced is carried out in a timely and cost effective manner.
  • Playing an active role in the recruitment and selection process for the team.
  • Attending first level disciplinaries and grievances.
  • Completing all performance reviews for the team.
  • Assessing the skills and performance levels of all team members and identifying/carrying out additional training as necessary.
  • Ensuring that team members operate in accordance with quality procedures.
  • Assisting in identifying methods for continuous improvement.
  • Being responsible for the safe working of all team members and ensuring adherence to all Company H&S policies.
  • Ensuring all Company rules and regulations are met and initiating appropriate corrective action and/or the Company disciplinary procedures when required.
  • Responsible for making sure an excellent standard of housekeeping is maintained.
  • Completing corrective actions on time.
  • In addition to the above, there may be a requirement to perform other duties as requested by the Manager and/or VP. This is not an exhaustive list.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • IPC-610 Certification
  • IPC-610 CIT Certification
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience of working within an Electronics Manufacturing Facility
  • Able to delegate tasks
  • Able to discuss and resolve problems
  • Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines
  • Microsoft Office including Word, Excel & Outlook
  • Ability to work independently whilst collaborating in a team environment
  • Ability to communicate clearly to team and management

DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Maths/English GCSE, grade C or above
  • IOSH or NEBOSH Qualification
  • Completed an Engineering Apprenticeship
  • Able to work in a fast paced, varied, and demanding environment
