Are you ready to take on a hands-on role in production at one of the industry’s leading malt production sites? We’re looking for a dedicated individual to join our malt production team at our Stowmarket site.
A little bit about us: Muntons is a global supplier to the food and drinks industry and has been producing high-quality malt and malted ingredients for some well-loved brands around the globe for over 100 years. You’re likely to have tasted our products already, without even knowing it! We continue to look to the next 100 years as a strong and sustainable global supplier of malt and malted ingredients.
The Role: As a Mill Shift Operator, you will be a key member of the Mill Team, responsible for the safe and efficient production of malt flour, flakes and milled products. This is a hands-on, physical role working with plant and machinery in a fast-paced operational environment. This is a Monday to Friday position with rotating shifts covering 24-hour production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating milling plant and associated equipment
- Packing a variety of malts and malted ingredients into the required packaging
- Carrying out general cleaning duties to maintain hygiene standards
- Maintaining accurate records and cleaning schedules
- Working safely at all times, in line with health & safety and environmental policies
- Operating a forklift truck where qualified (training can be provided)
The Ideal Candidate:
- A reliable team player with a positive attitude
- Awareness of health & safety principles
- Well organised, flexible and able to work efficiently to meet deadlines
- Forklift licence desirable, or willingness to train
- Able to carry out the physical requirements of the role
- Good level of reading, writing and numeracy
- Experience of food manufacturing is great but not vital
