We're recruiting on behalf of a well-established heavy engineering manufacturer supplying ductile iron and steel castings into the turbocharger, manifold and wider engineering sectors. Due to continued growth and significant investment, the business is looking to recruit three Mechanical Maintenance Engineers across day, afternoon and night shifts. This is an excellent opportunity to join a stable, growing manufacturer with a substantial forward order book, ongoing investment in new equipment and a strong commitment to developing its engineering capability.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you'll be responsible for maintaining and improving plant reliability across two manufacturing sites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance activities
  • Diagnose and repair faults on hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical systems
  • Maintain gearboxes, bearings, cylinders, valves, pumps and rotating equipment
  • Perform welding, cutting, grinding and general fabrication work
  • Support TPM and continuous improvement activities
  • Work closely with production teams to minimise downtime and improve plant performance
  • Contribute to safety, reliability and operational improvements

What We're Looking For

We're interested in engineers from foundry, steel, quarrying, aggregates, recycling, cement, heavy manufacturing, process or similar industrial environments. You'll ideally have experience with:

  • Hydraulics, valves and cylinders
  • Bearings and rotating equipment
  • Pneumatic systems
  • Mechanical gearboxes and transmissions
  • Pumps, conveyors and industrial machinery
  • Welding, cutting and grinding

You'll also have:

  • Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in planned and reactive maintenance
  • Basic electrical fault-finding knowledge
  • A hands-on approach and strong commitment to safety

Foundry experience is beneficial but not essential. We're equally interested in engineers from heavy industrial environments with strong mechanical maintenance and root cause analysis skills.
