SEN Teaching Assistant - SEN School - Stockport
Salary: £110 - £115 per day, paid weekly
Contract: Full-time long-term and flexible opportunities available
Hirecracker Education are working with a Special Educational Needs School in Stockport supporting children with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD), autism, ADHD and complex needs. We are seeking compassionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join the team, providing personalised support to pupils to help them access learning, develop independence, and thrive in a safe and structured environment.
What you'll be doing:
- Supporting pupils with MLD, autism, and complex needs in the classroom, tailoring approaches to individual sensory, communication, and learning requirements
- Delivering 1:1 or small group interventions focused on personalised learning, social skills, communication, and emotional regulation
- Supporting pupils' social, emotional, behavioural, and health needs using positive reinforcement and consistent strategies
- Supporting pupils' with their GCSE preparations, following a tailored curriculum
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive peer interactions through tailored support
- Helping maintain a calm, safe, and structured classroom environment that promotes focus, engagement, and inclusion
Requirements:
- Experience supporting children with MLD, autism, or complex needs in school environment
- Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- Patience, empathy, and resilience when supporting children with complex needs
- Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to adapt approaches to individual pupils
- An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
