Are you an experienced Maintenance Operative looking to join a dynamic team where your skills will make a genuine difference? We are looking for a proactive, skilled Maintenance Operative to help deliver excellent service standards across our contract.
What will you deliver?
- You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a wide range of fabric assets, with some limited engineering-related tasks. All work must be completed safely, efficiently and on time.
- Completion of minor maintenance including, but not limited to, general minor maintenance repairs, minor carpentry including door maintenance, decorative repair including painting and decorating, plumbing including unblocking WCs and drainage, lamp changing, and landscaping repair (soft and hard).
- Completion of inspections in support of resource operation to check adherence to appropriate standards and policy, including quarterly maintenance checks, repair/fault identification, cleaning standards, site security and general upkeep.
- Responsible for supporting resources in running their day-to-day activities. Duties include, but are not limited to, room set-up including furniture moving, sweeping and cleaning of the outside of the resource, hanging pictures, building of furniture, portable radiator management, stores management, repairs management and support, driving duties (where qualified and trained) and reporting of accidents and incidents to relevant managers.
- Liaison with contractors, ensuring Health & Safety protocols are adhered to and communication with resource/head office over issues.
- Willingness to travel to other parts of our clients Middlesex and Essex estate as required.
- Completion of any other supporting/maintenance duties required.
Who are we looking for?
- Proven experience in a maintenance role.
- Qualifications in carpentry or similar trades would be highly beneficial.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
- A proactive approach with the ability to anticipate, diagnose, and repair faults efficiently.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness and availability to participate in the on-call rota (essential).
- Customer service champion.
