Salary: Circa £52,000 per annum dependent on skills and experience

Hours: 37 hours per week, full year

Newcastle and Stafford Colleges Group (NSCG) is one of the very best colleges in the country. In October 2024 we became the first and only further education provider in England to achieve a full set of outstanding grades in consecutive Ofsted Inspections.

The group is currently home to a population of over 6,500 full-time students with around 2000 adult learners and students on higher education programmes. We have over 1,500 apprentices where we work with over 850 individual employers.

We are now seeking an experienced and motivated Project Manager to provide operational leadership for the Advanced Manufacturing Technical Excellence College (AMTEC) programme. Working closely with the Vice Principal, the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in coordinating and driving delivery across a hub and spoke partnership model, ensuring the programme achieves its strategic objectives and delivers meaningful impact for learners, employers and stakeholders.

The postholder will be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective programme and project management arrangements, ensuring strong governance, financial oversight, performance monitoring and risk management across all aspects of the AMTEC programme.

In addition to leading the successful delivery of the AMTEC programme, the Project Manager will support the wider College Group through the development of high-quality bids, funding applications, business cases and proposals that secure external investment and support institutional growth, innovation and employer engagement.

To be successful in this role, you should have excellent organisational and project management skills, experience of working with multiple stakeholders and partners, and a proven ability to coordinate complex programmes from inception through to successful delivery.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide operational leadership for the successful delivery of the AMTEC programme across the hub and spoke partnership model.
  • Develop and maintain programme delivery plans, performance measures, milestones and impact assessments to ensure successful achievement of objectives.
  • Establish and implement robust project and programme management arrangements, including governance, reporting, risk management and quality assurance processes.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Has significant experience of project or programme management, preferably within education, skills, training, economic development or partnership-based environments.
  • Has excellent organisational, planning and prioritisation skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams effectively.
  • Is able to communicate and influence effectively with colleagues, employers, partners, funding bodies and other stakeholders and can act as a credible and enthusiastic ambassador for the College.
