Hays Education is supporting 2 Councils based in South-West London, looking to recruit multiple interim to permanent qualified Speech and Language Therapists roles from band 5 to band 7, starting September. Roles will be based in multiple mainstream and SEN schools and are full-time. These opportunities are ideal for therapists who are passionate about supporting children and young people with communication needs within specialist educational settings across primary and secondary.

The role as a Speech and Language Therapist in an SEN school includes:

  • Assessing and supporting pupils with speech, language, and communication needs
  • Delivering individual and group therapy programmes
  • Supporting pupils with ASC, SEMH, and complex learning needs
  • Contributing to EHCP targets and reviews
  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff, SENCOs, families, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Providing practical strategies to support communication across the school environment

Roles are available on up to 12-month contract basis.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEN (education or clinical settings)
  • Strong communication and collaborative working skills
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
