We are recruiting for an experienced Quality Manager to join a well-established manufacturing business based in Basildon. This is a fantastic opportunity for a quality professional looking to take ownership of a mature quality function within a business. This role would suit a hands-on Quality Manager who is comfortable both managing people and being actively involved in quality activities on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities of this Quality Manager role:

  • Manage, maintain and improve the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100 and industry quality requirements.
  • Lead, mentor and develop a team of 2 Quality Inspectors.
  • Create, review and approve First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs).
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing and quality processes.
  • Conduct quality investigations, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Manage calibration, testing and inspection activities.
  • Work closely with production and engineering teams to ensure quality objectives are achieved.
  • Support customer, supplier and regulatory quality requirements.
  • Participate in management review meetings and contribute to business improvement initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve existing processes whilst maintaining compliance.

Essential Requirements for this Quality Manager role:

  • Previous experience in a Quality Manager or Senior Quality position within manufacturing.
  • FAIR/FAIRS experience is essential and must be demonstrated.
  • Strong knowledge of AS9100 and Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience leading and managing quality personnel.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience implementing and driving continuous improvement activities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Lead Auditor qualification.
  • Experience conducting internal and external audits.
  • Knowledge of EASA requirements.
  • Experience with VisualFAIR or similar FAIR software.
