Are you a Chartered Quantity Surveyor looking for your next opportunity with a leading global consultancy? I'm currently working with a highly respected consultancy who are looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Southampton team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced QS to work across a diverse range of major projects while developing their career within a well-established and supportive business.

The Role

  • As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you'll be involved in delivering high-quality cost and commercial management services across a range of exciting projects, working closely with clients, contractors and wider project teams.

The business has a strong pipeline of work across several key sectors, including:

  • Education
  • Defence
  • Healthcare
  • Public sector and wider infrastructure projects

You'll have the opportunity to take responsibility for projects from inception through to completion, while also supporting junior team members and developing client relationships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing high-quality quantity surveying and cost management services
  • Managing project costs, budgets and commercial reporting
  • Preparing cost plans, estimates and tender documentation
  • Managing procurement and tender processes
  • Undertaking valuations, variations and final accounts
  • Supporting clients with commercial and contractual advice
  • Working closely with project managers, contractors and other consultants
  • Taking responsibility for your own projects and contributing to the wider team
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team
  • Developing strong, long-term client relationships

About You

We're looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor who is confident working within a consultancy environment and is looking to take the next step in their career. Chartered status is essential for this position, so you will need to be MRICS qualified with a strong track record within quantity surveying/cost management.

You should also have:

  • Strong consultancy-side Quantity Surveying experience
  • Proven experience managing projects and client relationships
  • Experience across sectors such as education, defence or healthcare would be highly beneficial
  • Strong commercial and contractual knowledge
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • The ability to manage your own workload and deliver projects to a high standard
  • A genuine interest in progressing your career within a leading consultancy
