Hays Property and Surveying are delighted to be working in partnership with a leading, multi-disciplinary construction consultancy to appoint a Senior Project Manager into their established Southampton team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join a successful and people-focused consultancy with a strong reputation across the South Coast.

The role will suit someone who enjoys taking ownership of client relationships, leading projects from inception through to completion, and working as part of a collaborative team delivering a broad range of construction and real estate projects.

The position offers hybrid working, with an expectation to attend the Southampton office 50% of the time.

Your new role As Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the delivery of project management services across a varied portfolio of construction projects.

You will act as a key point of contact for clients, lead project teams, administer contracts and ensure high-quality service delivery in line with agreed objectives.

You will be joining a growing regional project management service, working alongside cost management and project management professionals on local projects, regional programmes and national frameworks.

The Southampton team has a strong pipeline of work across a variety of sectors, including education, local government, defence, leisure, commercial and residential development, offering genuine variety, long-term career development and the opportunity to play a key role in continued growth.

Key Responsibilities - Managing construction projects and programmes from early-stage planning through to completion.

Acting as Project Manager, Contract Administrator and/or Employer's Agent where required.

Developing, maintaining and growing positive client relationships.

Supporting senior leaders with business objectives, service delivery and client development.

Preparing and presenting reports, updates and recommendations to clients and project stakeholders.

Managing project performance, risk, cost, quality and programme requirements.

Mentoring and supporting junior members of the project management team.

Contributing to bids, proposals and wider business development activity.

What you'll need to succeed MRICS / MAPM / MCIOB qualification is preferred, or working towards would be advantageous.

Hold a degree in a construction discipline.

Experienced construction Project Manager with a strong track record in consultancy, client-side or built environment settings.

Confident managing clients, coordinating project teams and administering construction contracts.

Project and/or programme management experience within construction or real estate.

Experience delivering projects from inception through to completion.

Knowledge of JCT and/or NEC forms of contract.

Experience acting as Contract Administrator, Employer's Agent and/or Project Manager.

Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.

Methodical, commercially aware approach to project delivery.

Strong problem-solving, reporting and presentation skills.
