As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in designing building services systems that help buildings operate efficiently, sustainably, and safely.
Key Responsibilities- Work as part of a design team delivering detailed mechanical building services designs.
- Liaise closely with internal and external project teams, including structural engineers, architects, surveyors, and contractors.
- Attend project and technical meetings.
- Ensure designs comply with current legislation, regulations, and health and safety requirements.
- Advise clients and project teams on energy efficiency, sustainability, and carbon reduction strategies.
- Design site-specific mechanical systems and equipment.
- Support and oversee the installation of building services systems.
- Specify maintenance and operational requirements for completed designs.
- Use industry-standard software, including CAD and BIM (Revit), to develop and coordinate designs.
- Carry out condition surveys and prepare technical reports with recommendations.

Essential Requirements- Degree-qualified (or higher) in Building Services Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive approach to work, with a willingness to learn and develop professionally.
- Working towards Chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional institution.
- Experience using industry-standard software such as IES, Hevacomp, AutoCAD, and Revit.
- Knowledge of sustainable design principles and low-carbon building services solutions.
