We're currently recruiting for an HSEQ Specialist to support operations at a busy Southampton-based logistics terminal. This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong health & safety, compliance, or quality background to develop their experience in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
The Role
- You'll work closely with the HSEQ Manager to support all aspects of Health, Safety, Environment and Quality across the site.
- This role combines administration, auditing, compliance, and operational support, helping to ensure the business maintains high standards and meets ISO requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the HSEQ Manager with day-to-day HSEQ activities.
- Carry out internal audits and active monitoring across departments and facilities.
- Assist with internal and external ISO audits, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001.
- Maintain and update SOPs, risk assessments, QCPs and safe systems of work.
- Produce reports on KPIs, incidents, fuel usage, claims and compliance data.
- Input and manage HSEQ data using Excel and internal systems.
- Support incident reporting, investigations and legal documentation.
- Assist with environmental monitoring and utility usage reporting.
- Help maintain claims, insurance and compliance records.
- Provide general administrative support to the HSEQ function.
- Act as a positive ambassador for HSEQ standards across the business.
About You
- Previous experience in an HSEQ, compliance, safety, or quality-focused role.
- Strong administration and organisational skills.
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Able to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines.
- Proactive, flexible, and able to work effectively under pressure.
Essential Requirements
- A recognised Health & Safety, Environmental or Quality qualification.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Fluent English, written and spoken.
- NEBOSH qualification.
- IOSH membership.
- ISO auditing experience.
