We're looking for a Customer Support Engineer to join a friendly and supportive technical support team near Hythe, Southampton. This is a great opportunity for someone in the early stages of their IT career who enjoys helping customers and wants to develop their technical skills. You could be a recent IT graduate, have completed an apprenticeship, or already have around 1-3 years' experience in technical/helpdesk support.

You'll be supporting customers by phone, email and messaging, troubleshooting technical issues and managing support tickets through to resolution. Excellent customer service is just as important as technical ability - you'll need to be patient, approachable and comfortable explaining technical issues to non-technical users.

What we're looking for:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Some experience in IT, helpdesk or technical support
  • Good understanding of networking and TCP/IP
  • Ideally some knowledge of firewalls, VLANs, VoIP, Windows or Linux
  • A logical approach to troubleshooting
  • Keen to learn and develop your technical skills
  • Full driving licence and your own transport due to the office location

The role offers £30,000 basic salary, with the opportunity to earn more through paid overtime and occasional out-of-hours support. You'll also receive structured training and development, 25 days' holiday plus additional Christmas leave, private medical insurance, pension and company bonus. A really good opportunity to build your career in technical support while working.
