This is an opportunity for an experienced Communications Manager to play a key role in devising and delivering strategic communications for the General Dental Council. You will be joining the Communications and Engagement team to help us deliver impactful and engaging campaigns. Activity is delivered across a range of channels, including digital and social, to help us connect effectively with dental professionals, external partners, patients and the public.
About you
You will be responsible for influencing the perception of the General Dental Council with our key external stakeholders, including patient and public interest groups, dental professionals, education providers, government officials across the UK and professional representative bodies.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Working with colleagues to develop and deliver strategic communications plans with measurable outcomes.
- Writing strategic communications content for our channels, including digital and social media.
- Editorship of the registrant and stakeholder monthly e-newsletters, identifying and writing engaging content, overseeing its distribution and producing monthly evaluation reports.
- Supporting the Senior Communications Manager on the production of the GDC's corporate reports.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to plan, co-ordinate and deliver engagement activities and communication products that engage our external audiences, including public and patients, government officials, education providers and professional bodies across the four nations of the UK.
Person specification:
- Experience of creating strategic communications plans and content for a range of channels including corporate reports, presentations, digital and social media.
- Excellent organisation skills and ability to project manage concurrent deliveries on time and budget and generate ideas to improve communication activities.
- Experience of managing, evaluating and continually improving strategic communications content, with experience of analysing data, understanding trends and articulating potential consequences.
- Experience and knowledge of UK political processes and public affairs or working within a healthcare or public sector organisation, regulatory body or a related field, together with good knowledge of the media and healthcare landscape to proactively identify opportunities to communicate the role of the GDC.
