You'll work closely with customers' maintenance and technical teams while driving supplier performance and delivering cost-saving initiatives.
In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Reacting to purchase requisitions
- Sourcing engineering and facility spare parts
- Placing purchase orders
- Expediting deliveries
- Ensuring goods arrive on time
- Negotiating the best commercial terms with suppliers
- Resolving delivery and invoice issues
- Identifying opportunities to reduce costs through price negotiation, product substitution, and standardisation

The Role:
- Source and procure engineering, maintenance, facility, and manufacturing equipment spare parts and services.
- React promptly to purchase requisitions for both ad-hoc (spot buy) and inventory-controlled items.
- Place purchase orders and maintain accurate purchasing records within the company ERP system.
- Expedite supplier deliveries and update delivery promise dates to ensure continuity of production.
- Monitor supplier performance to achieve on-time delivery targets.
- Negotiate the best commercial terms, including pricing, lead times, and payment terms.
- Identify and deliver cost reduction initiatives through supplier negotiation, approved product substitution, and product standardisation.
The Person:
- Background in procurement or similar
- Background in Manufacturing or similar
- Knowledge of engineering, maintenance, and factory consumable products.
- Understanding of engineering supply chains.
- Commutable to South Molton.
