With a project portfolio that continues to grow, they're looking for an ambitious Design Coordinator or Assistant Design to join our Essex-based team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with at least 3 years' experience working for a main contractor who is looking to develop their career within a supportive and experienced design team.
Current Opportunity:
Working alongside an experienced Design Manager, you'll play a key role in coordinating and managing the flow of design information throughout the project lifecycle. You'll help ensure design documentation is accurate, up to date and issued in line with programme requirements, supporting the successful delivery of the project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the Design Manager with the coordination of design information across live projects.
- Assist consultants and subcontractors in managing design deliverables and technical submissions.
- Maintain design trackers, RFIs, meeting actions and programme updates.
- Review drawings, specifications and schedules to identify inconsistencies or coordination issues before escalating where required.
- Support document control and ensure all design information is correctly distributed and recorded.
- Attend design meetings, producing accurate minutes and tracking actions through to completion.
- Help maintain effective communication between internal departments, consultants and supply chain partners.
What we need:
- Minimum 3 years' experience working for a main contractor in a Design Coordinator or similar role.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Good understanding of construction drawings, specifications and design documentation.
- Ability to identify coordination issues and communicate them effectively.
- Confident using Microsoft Office and common document management systems.
- A proactive attitude with a genuine desire to develop your career within design management.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships.
