People Solutions are currently recruiting for a HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Solihull, West Midlands. This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a well-known supplier of household goods with plenty of ongoing work available.
This position is ideal for applicants looking for a role as a LGV Class 1 Driver, CE Driver or Articulated Lorry Driver.
Shifts:
- Monday to Friday: start times between 03:00 and 06:00
- Weekend availability if required
Rates of Pay:
- Monday to Friday £17.00 per hour
- Saturday £18.00 per hour
- Sunday £19.00 per hour

Day-to-Day Duties:
- Operating and driving Category CE vehicles safely and efficiently to and from delivery locations
- Carrying out pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensuring all cargo is loaded and secured correctly
- Adhering to all traffic laws and transport regulations
- Communicating effectively with dispatch and customers
- Maintaining accurate records of shipments, mileage, and fuel usage
- Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements to management
- Assisting with loading and unloading of cargo when required
Essential Skills:
- Valid UK Category CE driving licence
- Minimum of twelve months Category CE driving experience
- No more than six penalty points (no major endorsements)
- Valid UK Driver CPC Card and Digital Tachograph Card
- Good level of spoken and written English
- Experience operating various trailer types
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Flexibility to work overtime when required
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
Desirable Experience:
- Previous commercial driving experience across multiple vehicle types
Training Provided:
- Industry-related training and ongoing support provided throughout your assignment
