Maintenance Engineer
Monday - Friday (9am - 5.30pm)
Location: Chatham, Kent
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000
Alexander Steele are delighted to be supporting an FMCG manufacturing business in their search for a Maintenance Engineer.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out planned and reactive maintenance activities to ensure maximum equipment reliability and minimal production downtime.
Key Responsibilities Respond to breakdowns and complete fault-finding activities.
Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) tasks.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and performance.
Utilise the CMMS system to manage work orders, maintenance records, and spare parts.
Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety, food safety, and site standards.
Maintain engineering tools and equipment in a safe working condition.
Work closely with production teams to maximise plant performance.
Support engineering projects and other maintenance activities as required.
Skills & Experience Experience working as a Maintenance Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills.
Knowledge of pneumatics, bearings, electrical control systems, and process equipment.
Experience using CMMS systems.
A proactive approach with strong problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable FMCG or food manufacturing experience.
Engineering qualifications (electrical or mechanical).
Experience driving continuous improvement activities.
