Pattern: 4 days on, 4 days off (6pm - 6am) Alexander Steele is partnering with a leading Manufacturing business based in Kent, who are looking to hire an Assistant Production Manager.
Youll be responsible for leading and developing a team on shift to meet production, quality, and safety targets while driving continuous improvement on the line.
Responsibilities Oversee daily production activities to meet planned targets.
Allocate manpower and resources efficiently across production lines.
Minimize downtime through proactive coordination with maintenance and quality teams.
Drive initiatives for productivity improvement, waste reduction, and resource optimization.
Ensure accurate recording of production data, material usage, and finished goods in ERP systems.
Monitor key performance indicators (output, efficiency, waste, downtime) and provide timely reports.
Validate system transactions to maintain data integrity for inventory and traceability.
Manage material returns and reconciliation at shift end.
Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to maintain inventory accuracy and reduce variances.
Enforce compliance with health, safety, and quality standards (e. g., GMP, HACCP).
Conduct regular safety checks and implement corrective actions promptly.
Maintain accurate and audit-ready records for production, safety, and quality compliance.
Ensure SOPs, checklists, and logs are updated and properly stored.
Lead and motivate the production team to achieve operational goals.
Skills and Experience 5+ years of experience in manufacturing or FMCG, including supervisory or managerial roles.
Strong understanding of ERP systems and production reporting.
Proven leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Knowledge of health and safety, quality standards, and compliance requirements.
Experience with warehouse management systems.
