Trade Compliance Co-ordinator / Customs Compliance Co-ordinator required for a freight forwarder in the Heathrow area, this freight forwarder imports and exports goods via air and ocean. The Compliance Co-ordinator will ensure all the paperwork is correct. You will be responsible for the Trade Compliance, CITES and Customs.
Salary: £27,500 - £28,000, Monday to Friday
The role:
- Complete the Product Libraries.
- Determine correct tariff classifications for all supported brands within the Key Account function moving from the EU as required.
- Issue country specific guidance (for the UK) to the business on additional import requirements for stock products predominantly from the EU.
- Provide support on internal projects where input, involvement or expertise where Trade Compliance is needed.
- Audit and monitor entries to ensure they are compliant with local import and export legislation, as well as to support brand KPI audit requirements.
- Ensure all operational activities are completed and followed up correctly in accordance with SOPs and organisational policy.
- Help facilitate Imports and Exports of non-stock goods, completing and supplying documents and declarations.
- Liaise with HMRC and assist with maintenance on customs procedures.
- Implement and improve new efficiencies in client workflow in conjunction with line manager.
- Create and maintain written procedures.
- Complete CITES applications.
- Ensure all CITES trackers are completed accurately and constantly up to date.
- Arrange air bookings for CITES permits.
- Complete checks for all CITES permits, ensuring they have been issued correctly.
- Immediately report and record any amendments and issues with the CITES permits to the line manager.
- Complete CITES Importer Notifications within the instructed time-period.
- Complete all Import, Export, Transit, ICS and ENS declarations compliantly in line with regulations.
This role is within a freight forwarder and will include all the standard duties you would expect of a Customs Compliance Co-ordinator.
Experience:
For the Customs Compliance Co-ordinator position we are looking for a candidate with freight knowledge. Experience within customs/trade compliance within a large business or brokerage firm, and an in-depth understanding of UK & EU Customs regulations and documentation, you will have around 2-4 years experience in a similar position or Customs facing role. Knowledge of control documentation such as IMPORT and EXPORT permits for CITES would be preferable.
