Join us at Torr Works, Holcim UK's flagship super quarry in Somerset, where you'll operate some of the biggest and most powerful machinery in the industry and work across a variety of key production areas. This is a hands-on role at a site with serious scale where every tonne produced helps build vital infrastructure across the country. Whether you're loading, crushing, washing, or working behind the scenes in the control room, you'll be part of a passionate, safety-first team that keeps the UK moving. What You'll Be Doing:

  • Operating heavy mobile plant safely and efficiently (Loading Shovels, ADTs, and more).
  • Supporting production across the site, including key areas like the crusher, wash plant, and control room.
  • Conducting pre-start checks, identifying defects, and ensuring your kit and workspace are clean, tidy, and safe.
  • Communicating closely with supervisors and teammates to keep operations running smoothly.
  • Following all site safety and environmental procedures - safety always comes first.

What You'll Bring:

  • A positive attitude and willingness to get stuck in - we'll handle the training.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Focus on safety and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts (day and afternoon patterns) Monday to Friday (05.00 - 13.30 & 13.30 - 23.00), every other Saturday 6.00 am - 11.00 am.
  • Experience in a quarry or similar heavy industry is helpful but not essential.
