Following the award of its first Michelin star in February this year, The Boat in Lichfield is now looking to recruit Chefs at all levels to join its talented kitchen team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join an established restaurant and micro-farm, offering a seasonal, sustainable approach to modern British cooking and a relaxed fine-dining experience.
Led by chef Liam Dillon, whose background includes some of the country's top kitchens and working alongside Marcus Wareing, The Boat is an excellent place to develop your skills and progress your career.
What we need from you as a Chef:
- Previous experience working as a Chef in a professional kitchen
- AA Rosette or Michelin-starred restaurant experience is preferred, but not essential
- Qualifications relevant to the role are desirable, but not essential
- A genuine passion for high-quality food, seasonal produce and attention to detail
- A positive, reliable approach and the ability to work well as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a willingness to learn and develop
- A driving licence is preferred due to the location and limited public transport links, but is not essential
What the role involves:
- Preparing, cooking and presenting dishes to the required standard for your chef level
- Running your own section
- Keeping your section and the wider kitchen clean, organised and ready for service
- Following all Food Hygiene and Food Safety guidelines
- Working with the kitchen team to maintain the standards expected of a Michelin-starred restaurant
Salary: £27,500 - £38,000 per year, depending on chef level and experience, plus £4,000 tronc.
Contract: Full-time, permanent. Four-day working week, Wednesday to Saturday, with Sundays guaranteed off unless the venue is hosting an event.
