Where will you be working?
We help our clients safeguard the water supply, improve environmental performance and manage demand for future generations. We enhance and extend asset life, ensuring compliance with water quality and environmental standards. We’re problem solvers with over 140 years of combined experience in engineering and infrastructure. This role will be within our Demand management and network infrastructure team. We look after 60 million meters and our teams provide advanced metering solutions to help manage demand for essential suppliers.
What will you be doing?
We're looking for the right candidate to bring enthusiasm to work, be able to follow instructions and adhere to health and safety legislation. You'll represent Yorkshire Water and M Group Water whilst conducting your role and be able to communicate with members of the public, so bring a smile to work. The role will be varying, and you'll be required to work indoors, outdoors in all weathers as well as walking and standing on uneven ground. You'll be required to work within a confined space, without restriction, as the role involves manual labour, including lifting, bending, need you to have a level of fitness which will allow you to complete tasks safely. There may be times that you are asked to work outside this working pattern, callouts, weekends etc depending on business requirements and operational needs, therefore it is important that the successful candidate is flexible and willing to support the business when needed. A performance related bonus is available, rewarding strong individual performance and productivity aligned with contract results.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, exchange, and maintain smart water meters in domestic and commercial properties.
- Carry out plumbing modifications as required to enable smart meter installations.
- Ensure all work is completed first-time-right, in line with contract requirements.
- Ensure tools, materials and equipment are used correctly, maintained and in good condition.
- Accurately complete job records, risk assessments and required documentation.
- Always maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Promote a positive and respectful approach when dealing with customers and members of the public.
- Comply with health & safety, company procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Achieve productivity targets while maintaining high quality and audit pass rates.
- Deliver a professional customer experience, explaining work clearly to occupants.
- Identify / repair remedial work, risks, and non-standard installations.
- Adhere to agreed appointment times and minimise cannot complete visits.
- Participate in audits, toolbox talks, and refresher training as required.
What you’ll bring
