Reed Engineering & Manufacturing are working with a leading manufacturing/heavy engineering business looking to appoint a Production Controller to play a pivotal role in driving operational performance, improving delivery reliability, and ensuring production runs smoothly from start to finish. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with planning or production experience who wants to step into a highly visible role with real impact across operations, supply chain, and customer delivery.
What you'll be doing:
- Owning production planning and scheduling, ensuring orders are delivered on time and in full
- Providing accurate lead times and balancing demand against capacity
- Driving on-time delivery (OTD) and identifying risks before they impact customers
- Managing material flow using pull systems, buffers, and inventory control
- Coordinating closely with operations, suppliers, and logistics teams
- Overseeing subcontractor performance and ensuring supply continuity
- Handling customer reschedules and delivery updates professionally and proactively
- Monitoring performance vs plan and taking action to keep production on track
- Contributing to S&OP and capacity planning discussions
What we're looking for:
