Our client is a long-established independent firm of Chartered Accountants with a strong reputation for providing high-quality compliance and advisory services to a broad portfolio of owner-managed businesses and individuals across South Yorkshire.

They are looking to recruit an experienced Payroll Administrator to join their friendly and supportive team.

Key Responsibilities Managing a portfolio of weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly payrolls.

Processing payrolls accurately from start to finish for a varied client base.

Calculating statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP and other family-related payments.

Administering workplace pension auto-enrolment and pension submissions.

Preparing payroll reports, journals and electronic payslips.

Submitting RTI returns and ensuring HMRC deadlines are met.

Responding to payroll queries from clients in a professional and timely manner.

Keeping up to date with payroll legislation and ensuring ongoing compliance.

Assisting with year-end payroll procedures and related reporting.

Supporting the wider accounts team where appropriate.

Candidate Profile Previous payroll experience within an accountancy practice or payroll bureau.

Confident processing multiple client payrolls with varying pay frequencies.

Good working knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments and workplace pensions.

Strong attention to detail with excellent organisational skills.

Comfortable managing deadlines across a busy client portfolio.

Friendly and professional communication skills with a client-focused approach.

Experience of payroll software and Microsoft Excel.

CIPP qualification would be advantageous but is not essential.
