The role involves carrying out reactive, planned and preventative maintenance in a high-end residential (Build-to-Rent) development in Sheffield. This will include work within apartments, the building and resident common areas.
Responsibilities include:
- Carrying out planned and reactive maintenance tasks
- Preparing vacant apartments for new residents and completing pre-tenancy works
- Working to deadlines to minimise void periods
- Completing basic plumbing, repairs, painting, decorating, and general maintenance works
- Repairing and replacing woodwork, doors, locks, fixtures, and fittings
- Investigating and resolving maintenance issues such as leaks and minor electrical faults
- Assisting with furniture moves and basic furniture repairs
- Working independently and managing daily tasks effectively
- Attending scheduled jobs and providing updates to the line manager
- Maintaining accurate records of completed works
- Carrying out routine checks including fire alarms, emergency lighting, and water temperatures
- Managing stock levels and reporting requirements
- Liaising professionally with residents during maintenance visits
The Person:
- Prior experience working in a handyman or maintenance role, ideally in a residential or hotel setting
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Strong organisational skills and ability to multitask
