Are you a commercially minded HR professional who thrives on building trusted relationships with senior leaders and making a real impact on the people agenda? We're looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our HR team on a fixed-term basis, covering maternity leave for a period of approximately 9-12 months. This is a broad, hands-on HRBP role with genuine influence partnering with our Senior Leadership Team, leading on complex employee relations, and directly managing the HR Operations Lead.
About the Role
You'll be the primary HR contact for a defined population of senior leaders across multiple functions, translating business priorities into practical people solutions. Working closely with the Head of HR, you'll play a key role in shaping how we support, develop, and retain our colleagues while also contributing to wider HR projects including M&A activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the trusted HR partner to the Senior Leadership Team, coaching and influencing at Director level
- Lead and manage complex ER cases across your business areas.
- Identify people trends and risks and develop commercially focused solutions in response
- Directly line manage the HR Operations Lead, and hold indirect accountability for the HR Coordinator team
- Support M&A HR activity including due diligence and Day 1 integration planning
- Ensure performance, pay, and talent review processes are embedded across your business areas
- Review and sign off ER documentation, maintaining quality and legal accuracy
- Monitor and update HR policies in line with legislative changes across UK and relevant EU jurisdictions
About You
Essential:
- Significant generalist HR experience, including complex ER case management
- Proven track record of partnering with and influencing senior stakeholders
- Strong knowledge of UK employment law and its practical application
- CIPD qualified (Level 5 minimum; Level 7 preferred)
- Commercially astute, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience of managing or developing others within an HR team
- Confident working independently, managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
Desirable:
- Experience of M&A HR activity, including TUPE and integration work
- Multi-jurisdiction HR experience across European entities
- Additional European language skills
