Service Supervisor | Theale, Reading | Upto 50k (DOE) plus company vehicle | On-Site Parking + Full Training + Career Development | Full-Time | Permanent About the Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Service Supervisor to join a growing and dynamic engineering business.

This is a key leadership role where you'll oversee the day-to-day operation of a busy service department, ensuring the efficient delivery of reactive call-outs, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), repairs and small works.

You'll be responsible for leading a team of engineers and service coordinators, driving operational performance, maintaining excellent customer service standards, and ensuring compliance across all service activities.

If you have a strong background in HVAC or refrigeration, excellent organisational skills and experience managing field-based engineers, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities Lead the day-to-day running of the service department, ensuring efficient planning and delivery of all reactive and planned service activities.

Oversee service scheduling and resource allocation for breakdowns, maintenance visits and repair works.

Take ownership of breakdown response, ensuring prompt engineer allocation and timely resolution.

Produce quotations for additional works and small projects following engineer site visits.

Manage service contracts, ensuring all planned visits are completed on time, to the required standard and within budget.

Oversee contract renewals and maintain strong customer relationships.

Ensure all Health & Safety documentation, including RAMS, is maintained and engineers and subcontractors remain fully compliant.

Lead and support the Service Desk, ensuring accurate job logging, tracking and completion.

Manage, coach and develop field service engineers, carrying out performance reviews and audits.

Build and manage a reliable subcontractor network, ensuring quality, compliance and value for money.

Act as the main point of escalation for customer issues, resolving complaints professionally and effectively.

Monitor labour, parts and subcontractor costs to ensure accurate job costing and commercial performance.

Track and report on service KPIs, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.

Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, including F-Gas regulations and Health & Safety requirements.

What We're Looking For Essential background within the HVAC and/or Refrigeration industry.

Previous experience in a Service Supervisor, Service Manager or Engineering Management role.

Proven experience managing field-based service engineers.

Strong planning, scheduling and organisational skills.

Commercial awareness with the ability to manage budgets and costs.

Excellent communication and leadership skills.

A proactive approach with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
