We're partnering with an established technology business undergoing a major platform transformation and looking to hire a Senior Engineering Team Lead to drive technical delivery, architecture, and team development. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll split your time between building scalable software, setting technical direction, and helping engineers grow and succeed.

What you'll be doing?

  • Leading a product-focused engineering squad
  • Driving architecture, system design, and engineering best practice
  • Working closely with Product Managers to shape roadmaps and delivery
  • Remaining hands-on with development, code reviews, and complex technical challenges
  • Coaching and mentoring engineers through regular 1-1s and career development
  • Championing modern engineering practices, including AI-assisted development tools
  • Collaborating with wider engineering teams on platform-wide initiatives

What we're looking for

  • 6+ years' experience building production software
  • Previous technical leadership experience within an engineering team
  • Strong backend development skills in C#/.NET (or Java, Kotlin, Go)
  • Experience with React, Vue.js, or similar front-end frameworks
  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture
  • Cloud experience (AWS preferred)
  • CI/CD and modern software delivery experience
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Passion for mentoring and developing engineers

Nice to have

  • Enterprise systems or integration experience
  • Previous people management responsibilities
  • Experience with platform modernisation or transformation programmes
  • Exposure to ERP, CRM, or other business-critical platforms
