Buyer Role Summary
To manage a portfolio of suppliers and commodities to meet the demands and goals of the organisation.
To source, select and develop suppliers capable of meeting the quality and delivery requirements of our customers.
To establish long-term supply agreements with preferred suppliers.
The job holder operates within the confines of established periodic schedules to deliver the key responsibilities of the role.
Decisions will be reviewed weekly, as a minimum.
Poor decisions can significantly impact achievement of Customer requirements, Company efficiencies and profitability.
Contracts and Purchase Orders up to defined limits within current Company List of Authorised Signatories.

Duties:
To source, select and negotiate with suppliers to ensure the most effective supply of product/parts (cost of acquisition)
To schedule the suppliers to meet on-time delivery requirements to MRP
Preparing supplier improvement plans to maximise the key metrics: - Quality, Delivery and Cost.
To resolve supply problems through commercial acumen and involving relevant engineering support as required.
To actively reduce the supply base to maximise spend with preferred suppliers, increasing leverage and response.
To support Company initiatives and involve the suppliers as needed.
To improve purchasing efficiency by reducing the supply base, developing long-term agreements, and developing relationships.
To achieve personal goals and objectives through detail and proactive plans.
