HGV CLASS 1 DRIVER – MULTI-DROP – Chesterfield -
People Solutions are currently recruiting for an HGV Class 1 Driver to join our well-established client based in Chesterfield .
Earn up to £23.00 per hour | Monday to Friday | Weekly Pay | Ongoing Work | Weekend Overtime Available | Immediate Starts
This is a fantastic opportunity offering excellent rates of pay, ongoing work, and genuine opportunities for long-term progression within a well-established logistics operation.
This role would suit candidates with experience as an HGV Class 1 Driver, LGV Class 1 Driver, Category C+E Driver, CE Driver, Articulated Lorry Driver, Tramper Driver or Multi-Drop Driver .
- Shifts
- Monday to Friday (Weekend work available)
- AM start times between 04:00 – 08:00
Rates of Pay - £19.00 per hour – Monday to Friday
- £21.50 per hour – Saturday
- £23.00 per hour – Sunday
- Weekly Pay

Day-to-Day Duties
As an HGV Class 1 Driver , your duties will include but not be limited to: - Completing Class 1 multi-drop deliveries safely and efficiently
- Operating Category C+E vehicles in line with company and DVSA regulations
- Carrying out pre- and post-journey vehicle inspections
- Ensuring all loads are secure prior to departure
- Maintaining accurate delivery paperwork and Digital Tachograph records
- Communicating effectively with the transport office and customers
- Reporting any vehicle defects or maintenance requirements promptly
- Assisting with loading and unloading when required
Essential Skills
To be successful as an HGV Class 1 Driver , you will need: - A valid UK Category C+E Driving Licence
- A minimum of 12 months' Class 1 driving experience
- A valid Driver CPC Qualification Card
- A valid Digital Tachograph Card
- No more than six penalty points for minor offences (no major endorsement codes)
- Good spoken and written English
- Excellent punctuality and timekeeping
- A good understanding of UK road traffic laws and Driver Hours Regulations
- Strong communication skills
Desirable Experience - Previous commercial Class 1 driving experience
- Previous multi-drop delivery experience
- Experience working within a fast-paced logistics environment
Training Provided - Driver assessment required prior to starting
- One-day paid induction following a successful assessment
- Industry-related training and ongoing support throughout your assignment
