Accountable Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with a growing, privately-owned construction business in the search for a Newly Qualified Commercial Accountant to join their finance team. Following a recent period of transformation and investment, the business is entering an exciting new chapter and is looking for a commercially-minded finance professional who wants to make a genuine impact.

This is far more than a traditional reporting role. You'll work closely with senior leadership, providing key financial insight, supporting strategic decision-making, and helping drive improvements across finance and operational processes.

The Role

  • Reporting directly into the Financial Controller, your responsibilities will include:
  • Your role will be a true blend of management accounting and finance business partnering.
  • Support the team with the production of monthly management accounts and board reporting.
  • Lead as finance business partner across your designated business units, liaising with operational and commercial teams to drive commercial insights and support decision-making.
  • Cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
  • Financial analysis and performance reporting across projects and business units.
  • Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the finance function.
  • Developing and strengthening financial controls and processes.
  • Providing commercial insight to support future growth plans.

About You

  • We're looking for an ambitious and proactive finance professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, operational environment.
  • Newly Qualified CIMA/ACCA/ACA.
  • Previous experience within the construction sector (or similar) is desirable.
  • Strong management accounting and business partnering experience.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • A commercial mindset and hands-on approach.
  • The confidence to challenge, influence and drive positive change.
