We are seeking motivated, detail-oriented Level 2 Qualified Dispensing Services Assistants to join our team and support the delivery of high-quality pharmacy services.

The Role

As a Dispensing Services Assistant, you will support the efficient processing and dispensing of prescriptions within a regulated distance-selling pharmacy environment, working closely with pharmacists and the wider team to ensure patients receive their medications accurately, safely, and on time.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Accurately dispense prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist
  • Select, label, and prepare medicines for dispensing and dispatch
  • Process prescription requests and patient orders using pharmacy systems
  • Prepare and package medications for home delivery
  • Manage stock control activities, including ordering, receiving, and stock rotation
  • Maintain accurate dispensing and patient records
  • Respond professionally to patient enquiries via telephone, email, and online platforms
  • Follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), GPhC standards, and relevant legislation
  • Help maintain a clean, organised, and compliant dispensary environment
  • Support continuous improvement within the pharmacy team

What You'll Bring

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Services (or equivalent recognised dispensing qualification)
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy dispensing role
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work well as part of a team under daily volume pressure
  • Competent IT skills and experience using dispensing systems

Desirable:

  • Experience working in a Distance Selling Pharmacy
  • Knowledge of the Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)
  • Experience using Pharmacy Management Record (PMR) systems
  • Understanding of NHS pharmacy services and regulations
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development
