We are looking for a Technology Modernisation Director to join a highly specialised technology advisory team, working with senior executives to solve complex business and technology challenges. This is not a traditional large-scale delivery role. You will operate as a senior trusted adviser, working closely with C-suite stakeholders to assess technology landscapes, shape transformation strategies and create measurable business value.

The role is particularly suited to someone with a combination of consulting and industry experience, strong commercial instincts and the credibility to advise senior leaders across Retail, Consumer, TMT or Financial Services.

The Role

  • Lead and co-lead high-impact technology advisory engagements with small, senior teams.
  • Advise CEOs, CFOs, CIOs and other senior stakeholders on technology strategy and transformation.
  • Develop technology strategies, operating models, governance frameworks and investment roadmaps.
  • Lead technology assessments, due diligence, carve-outs and post-merger integration programmes.
  • Support technology cost optimisation, outsourcing and value creation initiatives.
  • Provide independent advice on complex or troubled technology programmes, including turnaround and remediation.
  • Assess technology estates and identify opportunities for rationalisation, consolidation and modernisation.
  • Work closely with clients to translate technology challenges into practical business outcomes.
  • Develop trusted, long-term senior client relationships and contribute to new business opportunities.
  • Build expertise and thought leadership across your chosen technology or industry specialism.

What We Are Looking For

  • Senior-level experience within management consulting, Big 4 or a specialist advisory firm essential.
  • Ideally a combination of consulting and industry/client-side experience.
  • Strong technology advisory experience across at least two areas such as: IT strategy, Technology cost optimisation, Software delivery, Infrastructure & Operations, Architecture, Governance, Programme/Project Management, Target Operating Models.
  • Experience leading technology transformation, value creation or business-led change.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  • Proven ability to operate confidently with C-suite and senior executives.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking and presentation skills.
  • A strong track record of building trusted client relationships.
  • Experience leading small, high-performing teams rather than large-scale delivery organisations.
  • Willingness to travel across EMEA.

This is an opportunity to join a small, highly specialised and elite technology advisory team, where senior professionals have significant exposure to C-suite clients and complex, high-value engagements. You will have the opportunity to develop your own specialism, work across European engagements and advise clients on some of their most critical technology and business challenges without the traditional large-scale delivery model.

The role also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including healthcare, generous paid leave, professional development support and wellbeing benefits. If you are a senior technology consultant or advisory leader who enjoys solving complex problems, working directly with executives and delivering high-impact advice rather than managing huge delivery teams, this could be an excellent next step.
