This company is building AI systems designed specifically for clinicians and healthcare teams. Their platform supports real-time clinical workflows and helps healthcare professionals manage complex operational and patient-facing tasks safely and efficiently.
The focus is on building practical AI products that can operate in real healthcare environments under strict reliability, security, and compliance standards. Their backend platform powers orchestration layers, data pipelines, knowledge systems, and AI agents operating across clinical environments. Reliability, safety, and scalability are central to everything they build.
The engineering team is highly technical and hands-on. You will work closely with AI engineers, clinicians, and infrastructure teams to build production systems that support real customer use cases at scale.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will design and build the backend systems powering the company’s AI platform. You will work on distributed systems, orchestration layers, event-driven services, and scalable backend infrastructure used by agentic AI systems in production. This is not a role focused on simple API integrations or prototypes. The company is looking for someone who has built and shipped real agentic AI products used by customers in live environments.
You will help architect reliable, high-availability systems that support AI agents interacting with complex workflows and sensitive healthcare data. The role covers backend engineering, concurrency, distributed architectures, infrastructure-aware development, and production reliability. You will own services end-to-end, including observability, resiliency, fault tolerance, testing, and operational performance. You will also collaborate closely with AI, Security, Clinical, and QA teams to ensure systems remain safe, compliant, and scalable as the platform evolves.
About you (skills/experience):
- You have strong backend software engineering experience building scalable production systems.
- You understand concurrency, distributed architectures, and backend design principles at a deep level.
- You’ve built and shipped agentic AI systems into production environments with real users and customers.
- You are comfortable working on orchestration systems, async architectures, and high-throughput backend services.
- You have strong Python experience and are confident in building with frameworks such as FastAPI.
- You understand cloud infrastructure and production environments, including Kubernetes, Docker, and modern DevOps workflows.
- You care about engineering quality, clean architecture, maintainability, and operational reliability.
- You are infrastructure-aware and understand how software decisions impact scalability, latency, and resilience.
- You can work autonomously in a fast-moving environment and take ownership of complex technical problems.
Desirables:
- Experience working in healthcare or regulated environments.
- Exposure to LLM workflows, RAG systems, or AI orchestration platforms.
- Experience with event streaming, message queues, and distributed systems tooling.
- Understanding of compliance standards such as SOC2, ISO27001, HIPAA, or GDPR.
- Experience building highly available systems operating at scale.
