The Role

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be responsible for producing accurate and competitive estimates for mechanical engineering projects within the nuclear sector. Working closely with engineering, commercial and project delivery teams, you will ensure tenders are commercially competitive, technically accurate and aligned with client specifications. This role offers exposure to prestigious nuclear projects and provides genuine opportunities for professional growth and career advancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for mechanical engineering projects.
  • Review technical drawings, specifications and tender documentation.
  • Produce accurate material take-offs and labour cost estimates.
  • Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
  • Identify project risks, opportunities and value engineering solutions.
  • Collaborate with engineering and commercial teams throughout the bidding process.
  • Support tender reviews and client presentations where required.
  • Maintain accurate estimating records and pricing databases.

About You

To be successful as a Mechanical Estimator, you will have:

  • Previous experience as a Mechanical Estimator within engineering, building services or industrial projects.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and installation methods.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and estimating skills.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills.
  • A proactive approach with exceptional attention to detail.
