We are looking for a warm and compassionate Support Worker to join our lively team at our Supported Living service in the heart of Rugeley, Staffordshire. Our service provides person-centred care to 14 individuals with learning disabilities, who have varied levels of support needs.

Support Worker Duties:

  • Assist with day-to-day living duties, such as budgeting, shopping, support with medication, and personal care needs.
  • Collaborate with service users, families, carers, and professionals to provide a coordinated and consistent service, which works in the best interest of the supported individual.
  • Be responsive to the needs of service users in line with Person Centred Plans, and respond flexibly to any changes required.
  • Encourage and support service users to express their needs, views, and concerns, enabling them to make their own choices and decisions.
  • Promote our service users' independence as much as possible, while also being a friendly supportive hand.

This is a part-time position of 30 hours per week, which are to be worked flexibly on a rota basis, according to the needs of the service. Shifts will often be worked in teams of 3 to 4 staff members ensuring quality person-centred support to all of our service users. Please note, you must be willing to work evenings, weekends, sleep-in shifts, and public holidays.

While beneficial, previous experience is not essential; we value an engaging, creative, and person-centred approach above all. Therefore, the ideal candidate would be someone who is passionate about enabling and encouraging our service users to enjoy a fulfilling and valued life.

It empowers career progression through tailored learning aligned with national strategies and the WE CARE framework. Full training is provided, as is the opportunity to work towards QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care.
