Immediate start! Siamo Recruitment is currently looking for a Transport Coordinator Clerk to work for us at one of our prestigious clients in Crick, NN6.
Shift: Nights 18:00-06:00 - 4 on 4 off shift pattern
Pay Rate: Night £14.60 p/h (£13.25 + £1.35 shift allowance night)
Role Overview: As a Transport Coordinator, you are responsible for the day-to-day tasks in the transport operations team, managing key objectives and keeping within the budgetary constraints of the department including customer KPIs, whilst achieving the best possible level of service to internal and external customers.
Role Requirements:
- Support management of the shift plan, ensuring all necessary resources are available to meet the daily requirement.
- Prepare reports and keep all systems up to date.
- Manage within the current KPIs.
- Contact drivers to understand delays, manage any ad-hoc issues and escalate where appropriate.
- Responsible for updating and maintaining data on the transport management system (TMS and Microlise).
- Pre Brief and De-brief drivers on the plan versus actual routes, noting and investigating any discrepancies.
- Respond to customer and stakeholder queries both quickly and effectively (Internal and External).
- Communicate effectively and deliver excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.
- Accurate completion of documentation to meet depot process and legislative requirements and the managing of these documents on dispatch and return.
- Proactively manage the drivers' daily plan and ensure enough driving/duty time is available to complete the route.
- Monitor all routes and ensure delays are kept to a minimum.
- Ensure accurate completion of Driver Licence declaration and periodical check.
- Accurate collation of inbound and outbound pallet quantities.
- Ensure clear and accurate recording of all equipment (Pallets and Trays).
- Engage positively with colleagues from all departments.
- Housekeeping to be carried out on each shift in line with the COVID-19 risk assessment.
- Manage training of new staff on relevant systems.
- Ensure full compliance of transport and telematics systems for own shift.
- Ensure all consignments are updated on the TMS system.
- Take a proactive role in a culture where health and safety is at the core of everything we do.
Knowledge and Experience required:
- Demonstrable good written and verbal communication skills.
- Commitment to health and safety, equal opportunities and anti-discriminatory practices in employment and service provision.
- Understanding of the needs for confidentiality and compliance with service regimes.
- Confident in using Microsoft Office applications and transport systems.
- Working knowledge of vehicle telematic systems.
- Takes ownership of issues within the team and can delegate effectively.
- Working knowledge of transport/drivers hours and regulations.
- Working knowledge of tachographs.
- Understand the financial impact on operational decisions.
