We are looking for an experienced higher-level Learning Support Practitioner to work in our thriving and Ofsted outstanding Academic Support Department.
The ideal candidate will have a Level 3 Learning Support qualification or experience leading intervention groups, general education to A level standard, and Level 4 in Maths and English or equivalent. In addition to the above, you will need to be a strong communicator with a flexible approach, have excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to work effectively with staff, students, and professionals at all levels.
As a Learning Support Practitioner working in partnership with our Specialist Teachers, you will plan and deliver social and emotional interventions and motivational support for students who have educational health and care plans and/or disabilities studying qualifications from Level 2 up to Level 4.
In this role, you will provide social and emotional education and interventions for students with a wide range of needs, particularly for students with Autism and ADHD, through individual and small-group sessions. You will also be required to support students during unstructured time and run clubs to facilitate social interaction. You might be required to support students with their welfare and personal care needs.
To be successful, you will be passionate about supporting students with additional needs to become well-rounded, socially confident, independent young adults and, ideally, have experience working alongside individuals with learning differences, including Autism, language and communication difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health needs.
This role is a fixed-term contract until the end of the academic year, 31 st August 2027, term-time only.
