Home Manager in Royal Tunbridge Wells

We're looking for an exceptional Home Manager to lead Tunbridge Wells Care Home. This is a modern, purpose-built 70-bed care home in Royal Tunbridge Wells, providing residential, nursing, dementia, respite, palliative and end-of-life care. The home operates across three floors and benefits from landscaped gardens and high-quality facilities.

Occupancy is currently approximately 97%, while the home has an excellent 9.8/10 carehome.co.uk score from 98 reviews. But high occupancy alone doesn't define a successful care home. And that's why this appointment matters.

• Contract: £80,000 - £90,000 per annum

Tunbridge Wells is almost fully occupied and is highly regarded by residents and families. Our next Home Manager needs to ensure that operational and quality performance matches that strength. We're looking for a leader who will get under the skin of the service, establish consistently high standards, strengthen governance and develop a team capable of sustaining excellent performance. The public CQC rating is currently Good across all five domains. The opportunity for the incoming leader is to ensure the home doesn't simply rely on its history or commercial success, but continually challenges itself to improve.

This makes Tunbridge Wells an interesting leadership proposition - a successful, highly occupied home that still needs a highly driven manager.

You'll have overall accountability for the quality, people, commercial and operational performance of the home. You'll be expected to understand every part of the service, from clinical governance and resident experience through to colleague engagement, recruitment, agency usage, occupancy and financial performance. With occupancy already at 97%, your focus won't simply be filling beds. It will be about maintaining the right resident mix, protecting the home's reputation and ensuring growth never comes at the expense of quality. You'll create clear expectations for your team, develop your senior colleagues and ensure standards are sustained every day. Not simply when an inspection is approaching.

We need an experienced, credible Home Manager with a strong record of managing a large and complex service. Ideally, you'll be nurse-qualified, with excellent knowledge of clinical governance and regulation. You'll have evidence of strong CQC outcomes, team development, commercial performance and the ability to manage competing priorities without losing sight of the resident. You'll also be comfortable using information and data to inform decisions and hold others accountable for delivery.

Commercially and operationally, there are some exceptionally strong foundations for the incoming Home Manager to inherit, including near-full occupancy and no current reliance on agency. The opportunity is to protect those strengths while continuing to raise standards across quality, governance, leadership and resident experience.
