Role Overview
Our client is looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant / Administrator to join their team on a full-time basis at their office in the TN1 area. This is a varied role suited to someone with strong all-round experience in accounts and administration. The successful candidate will be organised, accurate and confident handling day-to-day finance and office support duties. Knowledge of QuickBooks would be an advantage, although it is not essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing purchase and sales invoices
- Matching, checking and coding invoices
- Assisting with supplier and customer account queries
- Reconciling statements and accounts
- Supporting credit control and chasing outstanding payments where required
- Preparing and maintaining accurate financial records
- Assisting with payment runs and banking duties
- Inputting data accurately onto accounting systems
- Supporting month-end processes where required
- General office administration and filing
- Answering calls and emails in a professional manner
- Liaising with suppliers, customers and internal teams
- Providing wider administrative support to the business as needed
Candidate Requirements
- Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant, Administrator, or similar role
- Good all-round accounts and administration experience
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good organisational and time management skills
- Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A proactive and flexible approach to work
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
- QuickBooks knowledge would be desirable but is not essential
Experience
Candidates should be comfortable working in a varied office-based role and able to manage a mix of finance and administrative duties. Previous experience using accounting software would be beneficial.
Working Hours
This is a full-time, office-based role, working Monday to Friday.
Salary
The salary for this role is £30,000 - £32,000 per annum, depending on experience.
