Job Description

Are you interested in environmental monitoring and field operations? This could be your opportunity to excel as a Trainee Field Crew Leader, playing a vital role in supporting SOCOTEC's continued success. As SOCOTEC grows, so do our teams. We're looking for a dedicated Trainee Field Crew Leader to join our Flow Monitoring team.

We are seeking a proactive, reliable, and flexible Trainee Field Crew Leader to join our Flow Monitoring team. In this role, you'll need the confidence to work independently while leading and supporting a crew in the field, alongside the ability to collaborate effectively with Project Managers, Schedulers and Data Analysts. A background in flow survey operations or a similar field environment, together with knowledge of health and safety procedures and field-based monitoring activities, is essential to thrive in this position.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Crew Operative looking to take the next step into leadership. We're looking for someone with a positive, "get up and go" attitude who is committed to putting 100% into their development through our structured Crew Leader Training Programme.

The tasks you will undertake will include (but are not limited to):

  • Leading, mentoring and supporting Field Crew Operatives while promoting a safe and positive working environment.
  • Carrying out inspections, installations, maintenance and removal of flow monitoring equipment to the highest quality standards.
  • Ensuring all health and safety procedures, RAMS and company work instructions are followed at all times.
  • Completing field documentation, retrieving monitoring data and maintaining accurate project records.
  • Managing company vehicles, equipment and assets, ensuring they are maintained, checked and accounted for.
  • Working closely with Project Managers, Schedulers and Data Analysts to deliver projects safely, efficiently and on time.

Qualifications

To be a successful Trainee Field Crew Leader, you should be able to demonstrate:

  • A manual UK driving licence.
  • Previous Crew Leader cover experience and the ability to motivate and support others.
  • A proactive, flexible approach with a willingness to travel, work weekends, complete overtime and undertake overnight or overseas work when required.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • A commitment to completing all mandatory training, including the Crew Leader Training Programme under an assigned mentor, RASWA Unit 10 Supervisor qualification and Data Training.
