£38,000 - £42,500 + Overtime + Bonus

Full-Time | 44 hours per week

Are you a hands-on Maintenance Engineer with strong mechanical and electrical skills? We are working with a well-established manufacturing business in the Romsey area looking to strengthen their engineering team with a Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy production environment, supporting the performance and reliability of equipment.

The Role

You will play a key role in keeping production running efficiently, carrying out both planned maintenance and reactive repairs across a range of specialist machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to breakdowns
  • Diagnose and repair faults across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Maintain and troubleshoot extrusion lines and associated downstream equipment
  • Support machine set-up, commissioning and continuous improvement projects
  • Work closely with production teams to optimise performance and reduce downtime
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and fault logs
  • Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and manuals
  • Ensure all work complies with health & safety and environmental standards
  • Assist with general site maintenance (lighting, power, basic plumbing)

What We’re Looking For

  • Recognised Engineering qualification is ideal (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC/HND)
  • Proven maintenance experience within manufacturing or automated machinery environments
  • Strong fault-finding ability on PLC systems, motors, sensors and drives
  • Good knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong understanding of safe working practices

Desirable Skills

  • 18th Edition (if electrically biased)
  • Experience with PLC fault finding
  • Knowledge of Lean, 5S, TPM or continuous improvement
