A supportive Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in East London is seeking a dedicated Maths Teacher to join their team from September. The provision supports students who have been permanently excluded from mainstream school and need a more personalised approach to education, smaller classes and additional pastoral support.

The RoleAs a PRU Maths Teacher, you will:
Plan and deliver engaging KS3 and KS4 Maths lessons in small classes.
Adapt teaching and curriculum content around individual students' needs and starting points.
Support students who may have significant gaps in their education.
Build positive relationships with young people who may have become disengaged from school.
Use consistent, positive behaviour strategies to create a calm learning environment.
Support students to develop confidence, resilience and positive attitudes towards education.
Monitor academic and behavioural progress and contribute to individual learning plans.
Work closely with pastoral staff, families and external professionals.
Help prepare students for successful reintegration, further education, employment or alternative pathways .
What We're Looking For QTS is essential.
Strong Secondary Maths subject knowledge.
Experience teaching Maths within mainstream, PRU, AP or SEMH settings.
Confident and consistent behaviour management.
Patient, resilient and highly adaptable.
Excellent relationship-building skills.
A genuine belief in the potential of students who have struggled in mainstream education.
