Our client is a growing SME based in North Yorkshire seeking an experienced Interim Finance Manager to provide hands on financial leadership during a period of change.

This is a three month assignment with flexibility to be offered on either a full-time or part-time basis, depending on the successful candidate's availability.

Reporting directly to the senior leadership team, you will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function, ensuring business continuity while maintaining robust financial controls and supporting operational decision-making.

This is a varied role suited to an experienced finance professional who is comfortable working independently within a fast-paced SME environment.

Key responsibilities: Oversee the day-to-day running of the finance function.

Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reporting.

Manage cash flow, forecasting and working capital.

Supervise purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control activities.

Complete VAT returns and ensure statutory compliance.

Oversee payroll and associated reporting where required.

Maintain financial controls and improve finance processes where appropriate.

Liaise with external accountants, auditors and other professional advisers.

Support senior management with financial analysis and commercial insight.

Ensure a smooth handover at the end of the interim assignment.

Candidate profile: Qualified, part-qualified or qualified by experience accountant.

Previous experience in an Interim Finance Manager, Financial Controller or similar senior finance role.

Strong SME finance experience with the ability to manage a broad workload.

Confident producing management accounts and overseeing transactional finance.

Able to work autonomously and quickly establish effective working relationships.

Practical, organised and adaptable with excellent communication skills.

Available to commence the assignment at short notice or within a reasonable timeframe.

Package and working pattern: Initial three-month interim contract.

Flexible opportunity available on either a full-time or part-time basis.
