The Role

We are seeking an experienced and adaptable Shift Engineer to join a high-performing Maintenance team. In this dynamic role, you will be key to keeping the entire estate running smoothly, handling everything from routine preventative maintenance to reactive repairs across both guest-facing areas and behind-the-scenes facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with various hotel departments to prioritise urgent maintenance requests and daily tasks.
  • Source necessary parts and materials to complete jobs efficiently and within set deadlines.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical, and general building maintenance repairs to 5-star standards.
  • Maintain clear communication with department managers to minimise disruption to hotel operations and guest experiences.

Typical Shifts

Shifts operate on a flexible rota basis, including weekends and potential night coverage depending on business needs:

  • Early: 07:30 - 16:00
  • Mid: 10:30 - 19:00
  • Late: 14:30 - 23:00

What We Are Looking For

Experience: Proven track record in maintenance within a hotel, high-end hospitality, or similar fast-paced environment.

Qualifications: Recognized mechanical or electrical qualification (ideally City & Guilds level or equivalent).

Skills: Strong problem-solving ability, self-motivation, and excellent communication skills.

Flexibility: Willingness to work a varied shift pattern, including weekends and occasional nights.
