A fantastic opportunity for a technically strong, qualified accountant to take ownership of complex accounting matters within a substantial and evolving Group. Reporting to the Group Head of Financial Reporting, this is a high-profile role for someone who enjoys solving complex technical problems and wants exposure to a broad range of challenging and commercially important projects.

As the Group's technical accounting specialist, you will lead on complex accounting matters and provide expert support across the wider finance function. Your work will include:

  • Complex technical accounting under IFRS and relevant UK GAAP.
  • Acquisitions, business combinations and Group restructurings.
  • Complex debt, financing and effective interest rate calculations.
  • Foreign exchange and international operations.
  • Share-based payments and IFRS 16.
  • Implementation of new accounting standards, including IFRS 18.
  • Group and holding company statutory reporting.
  • Preparing technical papers for senior management, auditors and the Board.
  • Working closely with auditors, advisers, Treasury, Tax and Legal teams.

You will be an ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualified accountant with strong post-qualified technical accounting experience. You may currently be working in a large accountancy practice, technical advisory environment or within the Group finance team of a complex, multi-entity organisation.

Most importantly, you will enjoy getting to grips with complex issues, forming clear technical conclusions and working with senior stakeholders to deliver the right outcome. This is far more than a technical reporting role. You will have exposure to a wide range of complex and commercially significant projects, working across the Group and helping to shape technical accounting policies, processes and best practice.

If you are a technically excellent accountant looking for a role where you can genuinely make your mark, I would love to talk to you.
